I’ve grown ever so slightly addicted with crochet shawls. Well, one shawl in particular – and making it over and over again!
I discovered the pattern for the All At Sea Shawl by Elizabeth Davis de Herraiz in a copy of Simply Crochet Magazine and knew it would be a perfect holiday make for our trip to Ibiza in the summer.
Once we got to Ibiza, it didn’t look like I was actually going to get a chance to make the shawl as there was far too much lounging around on the beach and by the pool to be done. But as if by luck, a rainy, thundery day hit and I was able to whip out my hook and work up the shawl while we camped out in the hotel lounge for the day. The boys didn’t mind, the football season had just kicked off and the hotel had satellite TV!
The pattern is great. The shawl worked up very quickly and the lovely Scheepjes Invicta Colour Yarn created a beautiful finished result.
I’ve made 3 more of these lovely shawls. The pattern repeat is very easy to remember and I think I’ll soon be able to make them in my sleep.
This grey and white version is available to buy in my Etsy shop if you’re looking for a handmade Christmas gift for someone special.
Or, if you’d like to make one of your own, the pattern is available to download from Ravelry

I’ll have to pull out this issue of Simply Crochet. I don’t know how I skipped over this pattern. They are very beautiful! I love the blue and purple one. Thanks for sharing!
I think that’s my favourite colour too. The pattern is really lovely. It’s from Issue 22. Let me know if you make one x
