Do you remember this top? I made it ages and ages ago and promised a pattern. Well, it’s taken a while but I’ve made another and have finally found the time to sit down and write it up and make a little chart. You can download the free pattern for the Open Mesh Crochet Top at the bottom of this post. I hope you like it!
The second jumper includes sleeves and it’s big! I wanted it to be oversized and it certainly is, because I didn’t account for blocking. You can see in the picture below that I eased off the pinning out when I was blocking it because the jumper was getting bigger and bigger. The mesh at the top of the jumper is more open than at the bottom.
The pattern is very simple and adaptable. It doesn’t include measurements. Make the jumper as long and as wide as you like. Include sleeves (like on my new grey jumper), or don’t (like on the original cream jumper). It’s up to you.
I’m not a pattern writer or a clothes designer but I wanted to share how I made the jumper and if one or two people use my idea to make one of their own then I’m a happy bunny.
The pattern hasn’t been tested by anyone other than me so please let me know if you spot any errors or if I’ve made it more complicated that it need be. I welcome constructive feedback.
And do let me know if you make a jumper using my pattern. I’d love to know what you think
Here it is, in PDF format. Enjoy!
