Open Mesh Crochet Top – a free crochet pattern

Do you remember this top? I made it ages and ages ago and promised a pattern. Well, it’s taken a while but I’ve made another and have finally found the time to sit down and write it up and make a little chart. You can download the free pattern for the Open Mesh Crochet Top at the bottom of this post. I hope you like it!

Crochet Mesh Top

I’m really getting into making crochet tops at the moment. I’ll soon have one for each day of the week and will be well on my way to being able to take part in Make It May fully next year.

To top it all off, and this is actually quite a big deal, The Mr has even commented that “they actually look alright!” Previously, the thought of me making and wearing crochet clothes would have caused a screwed up, disapproving look to appear on his face.

I got rid of a huge stash of clothes – many that I hadn’t worn for a very, very long time. One thing that nearly ended up in the charity shop bag was this dress. A £5 bargain that I picked up in the supermarket a good few months back. I’ve worn it a couple of times, but it’s not really a good fit – probably because I eat too much chocolate, drink too much wine and don’t go running as often as I should!
